Product Development
Soft Toy Animal
In collaboration with Bella Reeves and Shayleigh Larsen, we designed a collection of soft-toy animal products aimed at aiding children ages 4 and 5 who have been diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactive disorder. We developed a brand concept of “ADHD and Me" which caterers to children struggling with symptoms of ADHD who find themselves struggling to reach age appropriate milestones through interactive playtime that exposes children to learning in a casual setting. We maintained a common theme of Australian Animals, so my co-developers made a quokka and a koala, while I created a Gouldian Finch. I fully hand-embroidered my soft-toy that was made from recycled material. I incorporated a variation of stitches for the appealing textural aspect of my product. The wings were also designed in a way that allows for the product’s range of motion. There is also an educational element to my product in that it has all of the colors for children to identify. On the inside of the wings, there are also embroidered numbers with associating French knots for a child to practice counting.
