Bauhaus Textiles
Using Photoshop and Lectra Kaledo Textile Design, myself and a team of textile designers, created a collection of Bauhaus style textile repeats. Motifs were hand painted using gouache on mixed media paper. We used computer aided design programs to flatten and sharpen motifs and color match so that the collection's color pallet remained consistent throughout. We we drawn to bold primary colors and pastel shades that complement the spring and summer seasons.
Since the Bauhaus style originated from construction and architecture, I was inspired by house frames. As a group, we also drew inspiration from keys, crystals, cows and trees. The collection consists of tossed and complex stripe textile designs. The other team members are: Julia McNamara, Sophie Penn, and Isabella Fordin.
